1. Preferably Islamic song.
2. If not Islamic, then do not sing a song seductive or about love. How about Count Your Blessings?
3. You should not sing in a loud voice and you should not sing as to attract the opposite sex.
Once your voice has been trained and better you should stop this behavior immediately. Studies have shown that stroke victims were able to regain their voice by singing. Singing should be a last resort and strong faith in Allah's medicine should be attempted first. If all else fails, singing is permissible to be well. After singing play Quran in your house to ward off all shaitan and ask Allah's forgiveness. Why is singing forbidden in Islam?
Anyone who listens to music will have melted copper poured into their ears on judgement day.
Evidence of prohibition in the Quraan and Sunnah:
Allaah says in Soorat Luqmaan:
)وَمِن
النَّاسِ مَن يَشتَرِي لَهوَ الحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ
بِغَيرِ عِلمٍ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا أُولَئِكَ لَهُم عََذابٌ مُهِينٌ( (6)
“And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing) to mislead (men) from the path of Allaah…”
The scholar of Islam, Ibn ‘Abbaas said: this means - singing. (Tafseer al-Tabari, 21/40).
Ibn Mas'ud say: I heard the apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) say: Singing produces hypocrisy in the heart.Abu Dawood, #4909
Poetry is condemned unless for the service of Islam and Muslim’s nobles issues
Allah says in soorat Ashu-araa:
"And the poets – [only] the deviators follow them; Do you not see that in every valley they roam, and that they say what they do not do? Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. 19:224-227
The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“"From
among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal
sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic
drinks and the use of Musical instruments, as permissible. And there
will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the
evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them
for something, but they will say to him, 'Return to us tomorrow.' Allah
will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on
them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and
they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection." (Narrated by al-Bukhaari)
This
Hadeeth indicates in two ways that musical instruments and enjoyment of
listening to music are prohibited. The first is the fact that the
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “[they]
permit” which clearly indicates that the things mentioned, including
musical instruments, are prohibited according to Islam, but those people
will permit them. The second is the fact that musical instruments are
mentioned alongside things which are definitely known to be prohibited,
i.e., adultery, silk for men and alcohol.
Weddings, Dancing and Singing
There is nothing wrong with women singing at weddings and Eid as long as their voices cannot be heard by men, disturb neighbors and not contain anything seductive. You should avoid all gatherings where music is played other than by the use of a dof. Even if it is the wedding of your best friend, decline the invitation and send your salam or a gift instead. A wedding that has music calls every shaitan in the neighborhood. A wedding that starts with the devil can only be disasterous.
It is traditional to dance at gatherings. What is against Islam is for women to show body parts to other women, to wear very short dresses that show more than is acceptable and one that is seen to be seductive, even to other women.
When dancing, do not dance seductive. Islam has many beautiful dances that can be done properly and is something to please Allah. I see more and more weddings leaning towards the kafir beliefs, loud speakers to amplify voices and haram situations. Women should not be intermixed with men and men should not have view of women dancing or partying. Men should not enter the side of the women for any reason other than relatives who wish to come to present the bride with a gift. Proper notice must be given to allow all women to cover.

Signs of a pious person
Hadrat Sayyiduna Dah`hak (radi allahu anhu) says that a person asked the Holy Prophet (salallahu alayhi wasallam), “Who is the most pious person?” The Prophet (salallahu alayhi wasallam) replied, “The one that does not forget the grave and does not forget that he will rot within it, he who leaves the beauty of the world, who gives preference to the lasting life over the perishable life, who does not count the coming day as they are part of his life and includes himself amongst the people of the graves”. (Musannaf ibne Abi Shaybah, Hadith # 3430, Vol. 7, pg. 99, Darul Kutub al-Ilmia, Beirut)
